Shumon Khan
Player Profile
‘A thunderous player, coupled with deadly accuracy with both foot and blistering pace made him an instant success at Mohammedan’.
Shumon shows an impressive work-rate, allowing defenders little time to clear their lines, and he is not afraid to chase back to retrieve the ball. He has been in superb form during the current season impressing fellow players and MSC fans with his fearless attitude and unique work ethic.
Shumon started playing league football in summer 2009 after his brother Shamim khan (current MSC player) persuaded him to come and join the set up. He initially started coming training just to start playing football, however very soon it was evident that this young boy can be a future asset to the MSC team. Shumon continued most of his education in training and was soon selected for the B team in the 2009 summer season where he was still finding grips with the 11 a side football and with every game he was improving in great strides. The following season Juned Ali, the former manager decided to include Shumon in his plans and he didn’t disappoint. Shumon made a lot of appearances from the bench in the 2009/ 2010 season. He made crucial impact and was an excellent team player. During the summer campaign, Shumon was transferred to the B team in summer 2010, scoring some beautiful goals and his impressive displays made him one of the first names on the sheet and he helped guide MSC to the championship title.
Now this season back in the first team set up, Shumon is working extremely hard to carry on his rise to fame and he is making sure he is still adding value to the team. He is young, energetic and a player who will be in the set up for many years to come. The season has started brightly for the powerful player and he has played all full game so far this season.
If Shumon can hit another gear this season, he can help MSC retain the ILFL league this year for sure…..
